Default Prevention Advice

Our default prevention counselor, Annamaria Carmen, has a Facebook page.  You may have seen Annamaria speak at IHE about managing your loans.  Look at her page to see announcements related to your finances.  For example, she just posted:
Good morning everyone!! As a reminder, the 2012 tax season is a great time to select an affordable repayment plan for your Federal Student loans. Contact your school counselor directly at (646) 738-7986 for more information or visit StudentAid.Ed.Gov and click on "How Do I Manage My Loans" then "Repayment Plans" then "Get Details About Repayment Plans". If you have already filed your 2012 Tax Return, apply for a new repayment plan if you have financial hardship. If you are in the process of filing your 2012 Tax return, check out the calculators under "Quick Links" to see what your estimated monthly payments could be. Some students can be approved for very low even $0 per month payments and avoid delinquency without the need to apply for deferments or forbearances! Please take advantage of these new opportunities! — in Jersey City.

The IHE Library is now open only on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. If you'd like to meet with your librarian, you may want to make an appointment or at least call ahead.  You can email me at agerber@ihe.edu or call me at (201) 217-1113.

The newest resource in the IHE Library is a book called The Psychology of the Body by Elliot Greene and Barbara Goodrich-Dunn (call number RM721 .G773 2013, ISBN 9781608311569).  It's written for massage therapy students, but if you are interested in the relationship between people's minds and bodies, you might find this book interesting.
